Relocation Program - Living and Working in a New Country
Pre-departure and post-arrival intercultural training programs for US residents moving overseas and international residents moving to the US.
Participants: Expatriate executive and spouse/partner

Women Executive Relocation Program - Living and Working in a New Country
Pre-departure and post-arrival intercultural training programs for US residents moving overseas and international residents moving to the US.  Focus is on executive issues for women.
Participants: Expatriate women executive and spouse/partner

Spouse/Partner Relocation Program - Living and Finding Work in a New Country
Pre-departure and post-arrival intercultural training programs for US residents moving overseas and international residents moving to the US.  Focus is on spouse's/partner's career or meaningful work issues.
Participants: Spouse/partner

Repatriation Program - Returning “Home”
Post-arrival repatriation training programs for US and international residents returning to their “home” in the US.
Participants: Expatriate executive and spouse/partner

Goals of programs:

  • To heighten self-awareness in order to limit the challenges of culture based misunderstandings
  • To understand the cultural values of the new country and how they impact work and daily life
  • To recognize how culture influences perceptions and assumptions as well as attitudes and behaviors
  • To explore and appreciate styles of communicating effectively across cultures both verbally and non-verbally
  • To manage the challenges and opportunities the global assignment creates for the whole family
  • To discover ways participants get the most out of their overseas experiences

All programs are typically one to two days in length. Lengths of programs can be modified to suit particpants' needs.

YOUTH/TEEN TRAINING PROGRAMS

Youth/Teen Relocation Program - Living in a New Country
Pre-departure and post-arrival youth intercultural training programs for US residents moving overseas and international residents moving to the US.
Participants: Youth/Teen 7 – 18 years old

Youth/Teen Repatriation Program - Returning “Home”
Post-arrival repatriation training programs for US and international residents returning to their "home" in the US.
Participants: Youth/Teen 7 – 18 years old

Teen Transition Program - Shall I Move?
Pre-departure teen transition programs for US residents considering moving overseas or staying in the US to finish high school.
Participants: Teen 15 – 18 years old

Goals of programs:

  • To recognize the skills and knowledge that participant's bring and how this will benefit their move overseas
  • To understand the emotions associated with an overseas move and to provide tools to better understand and live with them
  • To learn about Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and what makes them unique
  • To review and discuss each participant's life's story and any previous transitions
  • To understand the meaning of culture and how differences between cultures will affect everyone differently
  • To learn important facts and information about the new country
  • To create an action plan to provide a smoother transition and adjustment period
  • To discover ways participants get the most out of their overseas experiences

All programs are typically one to two days in length. Lengths of programs can be modified to suit participants' needs.

Methods used:

Depending on the age and development of each youth/teen, methods used are the same as those in adult programs. Additionally, the following are used:

  • Art projects and drawings
  • Puzzles and games

Logistical details:

Programs are conducted at your company’s site, at a conference facility, or at the participant’s home (families with young children only).

Programs include: intake questionnaire and pre-training phone call for all participants, manuals and all materials for training programs, and follow up with additional resources for participants, if needed. 

One and two day adult and youth/teen training program fees are given upon request. Travel expenses, meals, conference facilities (if needed), and any additional expenses are charged separately.




INTERCULTURAL CONSULTING

Intercultural consulting is done on a project basis.  Projects include but are not limited to:

  • Intercultural manuals
  • Intercultural research projects
  • Intercultural articles
  • Intercultural workshops

Consulting fees are based on individual projects and are given upon request.
