Saskia Meckman In 2005, Saskia founded Soleil Intercultural as a way to share her professional and personal experiences in the intercultural field through her work as an Intercultural Trainer and Consultant.

Saskia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child Psychology and Education from Tufts University and a Master of Arts in International and Intercultural Management with a focus on Human Resources and Training from the School for International Training (SIT).  Fluent in French, proficient in Dutch and Spanish, and conversant in German, she is currently learning Arabic and Sanskrit.

Born in the United States, Saskia spent fourteen years growing up as an expatriate living in Europe – France (twice), Germany, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands.  With an Ecuadorian mother and a Dutch-Austrian-Danish father, she has always felt most at home in global settings. Saskia experienced the full relocation cycle when she repatriated back to her passport country to attend college.

Saskia has first-hand experience with the mental, physical, and emotional challenges that accompany international moves.  Over the past ten years, she has empathized and worked with hundreds of individuals and families, guiding them through their global relocation process.

Saskia’s intercultural consulting experience has included work with Deutsche Bank AG, Cornelius Grove and Associates, Stromberg Consulting, Woman Abroad, GMAC Global Relocation Services (formerly Windham International), Sherisen International, ExpatSpouse.com, Ricklin-Echikson Associates (REA), The Interchange Institute, and ReloWizard-3 (RW-3).

Currently, Saskia continues to conduct intercultural training programs for Cartus Intercultural Services (formerly Cendant Mobility), Berlitz Cultural Consulting, Prudential Relocation’s Intercultural Group, Dean Foster Associates, IOR Global Services, and Global Dynamics.

Saskia enjoys practicing and teaching yoga as well as cooking and sampling dishes from around the world.  As an active volunteer and member of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training, and Research (SIETAR), she offers yoga classes at
SIETAR USA conferences.

Saskia currently lives in Boca Raton, FL with her Arab-American husband (who grew up in Lebanon, Kuwait, and Greece) and experiences daily the joys and challenges of an intercultural marriage.
